Glen Edward Stroud, 75, died suddenly Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, WA. Glen was born July 8, 1929, in Buhl, Idaho, to Leslie and Eliza beth Stroud.
On May 28, 1948, he married his sweetheart, MaryLou Roberts, in Twin Falls, Idaho. They moved to the Tri-Cities in 1949 and have remained here since. Glen was the owner and operator of Northside Auto Service in Pasco until 1993 when he retired to take care of MaryLou in her illness. Glen was an active member and past president of the Columbia Basin Shrine Club and dedicated his life to helping children through the Shriner.s Hospital. He worked tirelessly to raise money to help children in need of medical care, selling raffle tickets to almost everyone he came across. He helped to transport children and their families to the Shriner.s Hospital when they had no other transportation. His family always will remember him as a very giving and dedicated man with a soft spot in his heart for children. We will all miss him greatly. Glen is preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years. MaryLou Stroud; his parents, Leslie and Elizabeth Stroud; his sister, Helen Jean Briggs; and his sister, Francis Madarieta. Glen is survived by his sons. Daniel Stroud and wife, Sheila Ron Stroud and wife. Susan, Steven Stroud and wife, Cindy, and his daughter, Lucinda Stroud and close friend, Darren Edelen; eight grand daughters; two grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; close friend, Margaret Girton; his brothers in the Shrine; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday May 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Mueller.s Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608W. Court St., Pasco, WA. Burial will follow at City View Cemetery in Pasco. Visitations are Saturday. May 7, 2005, from 1 to 4p.m. and Sunday, May 8, 2005, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Mueller.s Greenlee Funeral Home. .God and Grandma have been waiting for you Grandpa,. Danielle, great-granddaughter.
