Robert "Bob" V. Berger, Feb. 3, 1940 - Dec. 1, 2005
Robert (Bob) Berger of Pasco, Washington passed away on Thursday, December 1. 2005 after a long battle with congestive heart failure at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was born to Alf and Ragna Berger in Drayton, North Dakota on February 3. 1940 five minutes ahead of his twin brother, Bernt. Bob was raised in Crystal, ND. After graduating in 1958, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Upon his discharge. he settled in Pasco, WA. On May 12, 1966, he married Sharlyn Harris in Pasco. Together they had two daughters whom he loved very much. He was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren. His life revolved around his grandchildren whom he loved spoiling. Bob was known as "dad" to his daughters' many friends who spent countless hours of their growing up years at the Berger home. Bob was a former Jaycee member, a member of the Pasco-Kennewick Moose Lodge #484. Pasco Masonic Lodge #173, York Rite Masons, El Katif Shriners AAONMS, and Past President of the Columbia Basin Shrine Club. For several years, Bob worked in the trucking industry holding various management positions. One of his great passions was working along side his wife in their yard which earned them, for two years, "Yard of the Month," by the City of Pasco. He is survived by his wife, Sharlyn; daughters, Kim (Troy) Butler of Kennewick: Michelle (Gene) Ferguson of Colorado Springs, CO. granddaughters, Brooklyn and Paten Butler, grandsons, Brandon and Alex Ferguson; mother, Ragna and stepfather, Louis Johnson, of Crystal, ND, sisters-in-law, Dolores (Jim) Lindgren of Spokane. and Sandi Rowe, of Kennewick; brother-in-law, Mike Rowe of Kennewick; special nieces. Missy (Mark) Tiffany. and Angie (Steve) Spencer, all of Spokane; and six great-nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father, Alf, and twin brother, Bernt. Memorial service: Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608 West Court Street. Pasco, WA.
